Technologies

I use Visual Studio 2010 and C# as my current development package.
New projects always start on the latest version of the .NET framework and as time permits existing projects are upgraded.

Database backends are SQL Server 2008 for Enterprise and SQL 2008 Express for SME projects.

For web development I try to use Gizmox Visual WebGUI for rapid web development but vanilla asp.net is used if a license for Visual WebGUI cannot be purchased by the client.

Visual Studio is integrated with SVN and backed up nightly at 03H00 to an offsite server. Source code is always safe.

Keeping in contact with clients is important during the development phase and for this I use Manymoon for bug reporting, milestone tracking and task management. The reason I use Manymoon of BasecampHQ is because of the direct intergration with Google Apps.

Rates

As of October 2010 my rates are set at R400 PH (Ex VAT) but am negotiable depending on the length and size of the project.
All work is timesheeted and attached to invoices. Invoices are 14 days but also open to negotiation on payment terms.

For work outside of South Africa, the equivalent rate will be charged in USD. Payment can be made via Paypal.
